Many people have asked me why I call myself "Alligato", well to be honest and to the point, I once had a girlfriend named Allison and she loves cats very dearly eventhough she is allergic to them. Her sisters would call her Allicat as a nickname, and well I'm was also guilty of doing such a thing, I couldn't contain myself, I just though it was cute. So then, when we both part our ways, I was deeply heartbroken (and in some ways I still am even though it was a few years back), I started writing once more, I just had so many thoughts in my head and I need a way to get rid of them. My best friend came across my writing, she thought it was worth of publishing in the local newspaper or maybe the internet, I choose to do so but I was afraid that my work would be rejected by many people. She then said I should come up with a pen name, many famous writers used them to cover their real name so why shouldn't I? So I started thinking and looking for a pen name, upon my search I came across a ten page letter that I had written for Allison before we had broken up, it started with "Dear Allicat", I had it. I used her nickname as my own, instead of "Cat" I put "Gato" which is cat in spanish. It brings back memories of the times we spent together, and most of my writing is based of those events of my life, thus why I pick that name above others.
